Select from an Italian-inspired Vintners Dinner, special Horizons menu and Sweetheart Stroll
Enjoy a special evening with your sweetheart at The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake. Wine enthusiasts are invited to explore the flavors of Verona, Italy, at a Vintners Dinner guided by Lauren Fiala, The Lodge’s Certified Wine Specialist. For those preferring a more intimate, romantic dinner, Horizons Restaurant will be featuring a special Valentine’s Day menu created by our Executive Chef. And for nature enthusiasts, there’s the Sweetheart Stroll along the Lake Erie shoreline guided by Ohio State Park Naturalist, Cynthia Orth. 
 
Vintners Dinner
Inspired by the birthplace of Romeo and Juliet, one of the most well-known love stories, the Vintners Dinner will explore the flavors of Verona, Italy. The evening begins at 7:00 p.m. with a Prosecco and Italian cheese tasting. The experience continues with a wine tasting reception and presentation where Fiala will focus on Italian wines such as Amarone, Ripasso and Soave. The evening continues with a multi-course dinner with a pairing of other Italian wine varieties.

  • Antipasto paired with San Simone Prosecco
Olives, Italian Cheeses, Nuts, Prosciutto, Mortadella, Bresaola, Crisps
 
  • Venetian Duck Ragu paired with Amarone Valpolicella

The Vintners Dinner getaway package for two includes the wine tasting reception and presentation, dinner with wine pairings, an overnight stay and breakfast for two the next morning, beginning at $319* plus tax. The price of the event only without an overnight stay is $179 plus tax, per couple.

Valentine’s dining specials in Horizons
In addition to the regular menu, Horizons Restaurant will feature a special menu created by our Executive Chef. Special menu items include Crab & Roasted Corn Chowder, Crispy Duck Breast, Asparagus Ravioli, Cedar Roasted Sea Bass, a Cake Trio and Chocolate Mousse Cake. Sweetheart Stroll
Nature lovers may also want to begin the evening with a Sweetheart Stroll along the Lake Erie shoreline, guided by Ohio State Park Naturalist, Cynthia Orth.  Meeting in The Lodge lobby at 5:30 p.m., Orth will guide participants for a relaxing stroll following the Lake Erie shoreline in hopes of seeing a spectacular Lake Erie sunset. Length of stroll will be approximately one hour depending on conditions and weather. Participants should dress in layers and according to the weather. Hiking sticks, sturdy shoes and water are suggested.
