Offers Fresh Ideas for Summertime Grilling

GENEVA-ON-THE-LAKE, Ohio (May 29, 2008) - With the arrival of summer, more and more people are firing up their backyard grills. Stephen Gary, executive chef at The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake, encourages home chefs to think beyond traditional hamburgers and brats and grill up some of his favorite summertime recipes that can be easily prepared with recipes that Gary is eager to share:

  • Peppercorn Marinated Certified Angus Beef New York Strip Steak with Balsamic Tomato Salsa
    "Marinated New York Strip Steak is just a classic everyone is going to love across the board," said Gary. "Topping it off with a cherry tomato and balsamic salsa provides a fresh and healthy summer flavor!

  • Citrus BBQ Grilled Double Cup Pork Chop
    "People often overcook pork, leaving it a dry fully cooked piece of meat," explained Gary. "Grilled pork chops are easily enhanced with a classic BBQ sauce with a fresh citrus twist that is easy to make."

  • Grilled Shrimp & Pineapple Kabob with Lime Ginger Sauce
    "This is a great item because of how simple and fast they can be put together, prepared, grilled, and eaten," said Gary. "Grilled pineapple is one of the greatest flavors in the world with the smokey sweetness that it gets."

  • Grilled Salmon with Roasted Garlic Butter
    "Many people tend to shy away from grilling fish because it can easily fall apart on the grill. Salmon is a meatier fish that is easy to prepare and holds up well in the grilling process," said Gary.

  • Grilled Peaches with Warm Caramel and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
    "This grilled peaches dish is a great way to bring a dessert outdoors," said Gary. "Peaches grill up the same way that pineapple does and have a great sweetness to them when grilled on a high heat. Serve grilled peaches with vanilla ice cream and warm caramel to create a wonderful summertime treat."
