GENEVA-ON-THE-LAKE, Ohio (September 9, 2009) —
Celebrate the holidays in classic Renaissance tradition with the theatrical pageantry of Queen Elizabeth I and her Royal Court, including more than 40 period performers and musicians, during The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake’s Elizabethan Yuletide Feaste, Dec. 4, 5 and 6.
The feaste will include heraldry and royalty combined for an enchanting evening of fine food and unforgettable entertainment. Each course of the grande feaste will be celebrated with fanfare as guests enjoy singers and players arrayed in Elizabethan-period costume, theatre performances, traditional holiday music and enough memories to last a century.
Evening festivities begin at 6:15 p.m. as cast members begin seating the royal guests. Next an artful and entertaining jester presents each course of the meal. Then, the grande procession begins at 7 p.m., followed by the traditional hot wassail toast and the opening of festivities.
Throughout the evening, guests will be entertained by parodies and holiday music of the Elizabethan time period. Performers will include the Ashtabula County Choral Music Society Chorale and Youth Choir and the Madison Chorale and Consort (instrumental ensemble of recorders, strings and percussion). A final concert of Christmas music by choristers and a reading of the Christmas story will conclude the evening.

The Elizabethan Yuletide Feaste package for two begins at $179 plus tax and includes overnight accommodations the evening of the performance, a four-course grand feaste and traditional holiday music with live singers and players in period costume. Breakfast for two is included for the following morning. Additional adults are $59.50 plus tax, and additional children are $49.50 plus tax. Evening performances will be held Dec. 4 and 5 with a matinee on Dec. 6 (please call for matinee time.)
